INSTRUMENTS

Violin
Violin lessons are designed to help students of all skill levels develop strong technique, musicality, and confidence in their playing. Each lesson focuses on core fundamentals such as proper posture, bowing technique, finger placement, and tone production. Beginners start with simple exercises and familiar melodies to build coordination and ear training, while more advanced students can work on complex pieces, vibrato, shifting, and music theory.
Students are encouraged to bring their own violin and bow to each lesson to ensure consistent practice and progress. Working with their own instrument helps them develop a personal connection to their playing and allows the instructor to give specific feedback on how to get the best sound and technique from that particular violin.
Acoustic Guitar
Offering guitar lessons that cover a wide range of styles including blues and bluegrass. This provides students with a rich and engaging musical education. By exploring diverse genres, students not only develop technical skills like fingerpicking, strumming, and soloing but also gain a deeper understanding of music theory and rhythm in different musical contexts.

Students are expected to bring their own guitar to each lesson, allowing them to grow comfortable and confident with their personal instrument. This practice helps with consistency, technique development, and familiarity. Having their own gear also allows students to practice at home effectively and return each week ready to build on what they’ve learned.

Mandolin
Mandolin lessons offer students the opportunity to explore this versatile and expressive instrument through a combination of technique, music theory, and repertoire. Lessons typically begin with foundational skills such as proper picking technique, left-hand positioning, and basic chords and scales. As students progress, they delve into more advanced techniques like tremolo picking, cross-picking, and double stops.

Students are expected to bring their own mandolin to each lesson, ensuring they become comfortable and confident with their personal instrument. Using their own mandolin helps reinforce consistent practice habits and allows the instructor to provide guidance tailored to that instrument’s feel and setup.
